After a week of hectic schedule, this afternoon has really been such a relaxing moment for me. I was sharing a table with this couple during my lunch-out in York today. Undeniably, York is really a nice weekend escape.
York has been a stopover for them on a roadtrip. With so much laughter in our conversation, there were topics between 1970s and 2000s, between two generations. It was heaps of fun to speak through their careers, their lifestyle as typical british, their friends in Malaysia...
I have always given it a thought about how the credit crunch had influenced me as a student to a limited extent and today I gained a wider perspective as to how it influenced the local community. "There isn't any huge impact, and I am not worrying because the country has always thought about the people", the lady so commented.
We had talked so much, over my cup of coffee, their cheese burgers, our chips, the fruit tarts...
I was really thrilled to have such a wonderful conversation with them. The acquaintances, whom I never know what their names are. Hope they are enjoying their journey!
